Why do you work for Dégagé?

I love working at a place where lives are transformed every day. People experiencing homelessness are created in the image of Christ and have incredible gifts. With support, they can once again thrive and share their gifts with their community. I love working at a place where transformation happens every day.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

Psalm 118:5 – “When hard pressed I cried to the Lord; He brought me into a spacious place.”
This verse has meant so much to me as I faced trauma in my life and I love to share it with others who are facing hardship.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

1 Peter 4: 7-11 – “The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

Why do you work for Degage?

I work at Dégagé because I am passionate about journeying alongside people through life’s diverse opportunities and challenges. I resonate deeply with our organization’s values and find meaning in the mission of building relationships and offering programs that foster dignity and respect to all. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of such an intentional community of colleagues and patrons.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

Isaiah 58:6-12 6 – “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, 10 if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. 11 And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. 12 And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.”
