Programs: Food Pantry

This is no ordinary food pantry. Since 1996, our pantry has been an alternative to the traditional pantry structure. Heartside residents are able to select the food they want in the quantities they need.

Approximately 70 households are served through the food pantry on a weekly basis. Under the umbrella of the ACCESS food pantry network, it was also the forerunner of consumer choice pantries in Grand Rapids. Dégagé partners with Feeding America to purchase food at the price of delivery, just $0.17/lb. This allows us to purchase much more food than we could get from traditional food drives.
