Press Release: Take It To The Streets
Dégagé Ministries invites the community to join them on a walk through the Heartside Neighborhood on Saturday, September 19th.The walk is designed to raise awareness and support for the agency and surrounding community. Approximately 250 participants are expected to attend!
The Heartside Neighborhood of Grand Rapids is one of the fastest changing and growing communities in the City. Social service agencies and homeless shelters sit in the midst of high-end apartments and construction projects. To better understand this unique dynamic and to raise support for the agency, Dégagé has designed a walk-a-thon that involves 8 stations throughout Heartside. At each station a knowledge speaker will address an issue such as poverty, homelessness, mental illness, and many others.
This educational event can be enjoyed by families, individuals and groups of all ages. Registration begins at 9:30 am at
