Stars on the Grand - Floyd Mayweather Event
Degage partnered with the Floyd Mayweather Foundation for an event over the holiday weekend. Staff and volunteers spent time on July 4, 5, and 6 interacting with people who came to our Degage booth. We had free activities and prizes, as well as, a mock food pantry game for family fun!
Christ's Church performed 3 puppet shows on Saturday for the kids to enjoy!
Kurt Kimble is Grand Rapids City Manager and Floyd Mayweather board member. He and his wife smile with Degage staff at the private dinner at Tre Cuguini held over the weekend. The Floyd Mayweather Foundation offered dinner to all vendors partnering in the event. Degage thanks Beschelle Lockhart, executive director, of the Foundation and other foundation members for all of their hard work to pull of the weekend event!
Pig Roast for Patrons - June 9, 2008
We celebrated our first day back in our newly renovated facility with the patrons on June 9th! We greatly appreciate Thornapple covenant for volunteering and Robert Vandenberg for donating the pig!
Open House - June 5, 2008
Degage celebrated the completion of the renovation of our building! We were honored to have many volunteers, donors, and guests among us!

New Equipment for the Dining Room
New Equipment was installed on May 12th in our Dining Room!
Dave is excited about the new Dining Room! We will be celebrating the renovation completion by hosting an Open House June 5th 4pm-7pm. All are welcome!

Open Door newly Renovated
The Open Door exists to create a safe haven for woman in crisis. Staff is available for counseling and referrals for woman who are in need.
The Open Door is open 7pm until 9am, 7 nights a week.
Woman who stay over night in our Open Door Drop-In Center are able to clean their laundry and store their belongings in lockers we have available.
There are 4 new private showers in the Open Door with the new renovation!
Life Enrichment Center newly Renovated
We offer private showers for free in our Life Enrichment Center. We are able to have 4 private showers with the new renovation! On average, 30 people come to shower a day, over 150 a week.
People are able to come to the Life Enrichment Center and receive a hair cut for $2.00 on Tuesdays.
With the new renovation we have 4 new laundry machines and 6 dryers available in the Life Enrichment Center! People are able to come and do their laundry for $1.00 to wash, $1.00 to dry.
We offer other programs in the Life Enrichment Program to assist individuls, which include: mailing, phone, referral, and legal services, state identification program, and support groups.
